Number? |
What number is the limit of human understanding? 107,000 people attend UT football games. Can you imagine that many people? I don't think we can.
How about 50,000? 5,000?
I found a website that says that scientists believe that the largest number that humans can comprehend is 100,000.
Me? I think it's in the hundreds. Say, like seven or eight hundred. Maybe even less. |

Anyone who has been to Neyland Stadium should have at least a visual of 107,000, right? Think about heaven, whoa! Or Hell for that matter, hmmm, Amen or Oh me?

OK, so you visualize 107,000 people in the stadium. Move that 107,000 to another location and would you be able to estimate their number? That's what I'm talking about.
If you put M&Ms in a jar and have people estimate the number of candies in the jar, you'll get numbers all over the spectrum.
When you're told that the US has a $4.6 trillion economy. That's insane to try to comprehend.
I can easily estimate 40 or 50. But you put 1,000 in front of me and I'll be all over the place. 1,000 looks like 700 or 1,500 doesn't it?
More than 2,000,000 people came out of Egypt during the Exodus. Wow!
I just like big numbers...
